About Paula F. Odom

Texas native Paula Odom has been with Entergy Texas her entire career which spans 36 years. In her current role as a senior customer service specialist, she focuses on low-income customer initiatives.

Paula is the driving force behind the success of Entergy’s Power To Care program, which raises funds to provide utility bill assistance to seniors and disabled individuals in crisis. She has been instrumental in growing The Power to Care Charity Classic golf tournament over its 11-year history.

She is the lead Entergy contact with local partner agencies to ensure they are provided support and assistance, including organizing several food fairs through Montgomery County Food Bank and the Houston Food Bank.

Her regular ‘Coffee Break’ meetings are attended by a range of nonprofit and governmental organizations. These events encourage collaboration and partnership between organizations across our region to ensure that the community works together to support those in need.

Additionally, Paula has worked closely with the United Way to organize Super Tax Day, a program to offer free tax preparation services to help individuals claim their Earned Income Tax Credit. These events also include financial coaching, budget workshops, and free legal services. Since the program began in 2011, nearly 9,300 tax returns have been filed in Texas, with Texans receiving more than $13,123 in refunds.

Paula has assisted Interfaith and other local agencies in Entergy’s Beat the Heat fan program. Since the start of the program, they’ve helped us distributed 21,900 fans to customers in need. Paula organizes the deliveries to nonprofit agencies to help low-income customers stay cool in the summer.

Paula serves on the Community Assistance Center and The Power to Care Board of Directors. She enjoys serving on Entergy’s volunteer council as an Advisory Council member. Paula received her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in business administration.
